Sunday June 10, 2012 marks the annual Community Family Cookout at Lincoln Park in Newark, NJ.
Lincoln Park, home of the Lincoln Park Music Festival, was full of joy, confidence, excitement, love, certainty, protection and vision amongst other feelings the good life has to offer. Though the cookout was arranged by Stacey Wright, FP Youthcry Inc, CEO of Aspiring Change Akeem Cunningham, 050 Boys, Stop Shootin’ Inc., and other prominent organizations from Newark, NJ extended a helping hand to ensure such an imperial turnout!
There were free food, toys, games, and a variety of business vendors who all were ecstatic to be apart of this rise in unity with the residents of Newark and it’s surrounding cities. Not only was this a day of Unity, it was also a day to recognize and show appreciation for the Vanguards who work with our best interest in mind, and in mentioning, Akeem Cunning was presented with a Plague of appreciation for his outstanding heart, love and drive to help people in need! Recently, his organization Aspiring Change organized and helped 150 people with jobs. That number includes high school students and young adults who are out of school.
Sunday was a great example of S.O.S., Newark definitely knows how to be proactive and take responsibility in leading in the right direction.
